Goodbye, Life

I have long been compromised,
even before the end was bleak.

You’ve dragged me to horizons,
hung me at verticals.
I, with a smile.

You whispered it was for the greens,
as my feet played rhythms of my own desire.
I did not contest, for all had been fine.

You say I’m lost and out of focus,
you deemed the future vague.
You’ve let me down from whence I hung,
cut the cord in between the skyline.

You say you did not know,
but I’ve been telling you all this time.
No whispers, no cries- just a deep sigh.

You thought it hopeless.

You retorted that the greens had gone brown,
as I blew away with the melody.
You say the tides shall not turn,
because I let my mind play such sweet symphonies.

You continued.

“The sun will set no more, for it has burnt in its own light.
No matter how eager you step out of the door, you’ll never reach your flight.”

We’re pulling at both ends of the string now.

But I did not want to drag you on, nor let you loose.
You say, you to me- as you freed your grip.
I pulled and tumbled.

You said it cannot be,
A beat can never collide with taciturnity.
Your words were deafening.

You’ve let me go,
and I cannot contest.
